Introduction
English grammar में another और other दोनों का उपयोग “दूसरा / अन्य” के अर्थ में होता है। लेकिन students अक्सर confuse हो जाते हैं कि sentence में another कब use करें और other कब। इस guide में हम दोनों words का difference आसान rules और examples के साथ समझेंगे।
Use 1: Another (One More / एक और)
Another = an + other
जब हमें एक और (one more) चीज़ चाहिए होती है, तब “another” use होता है।
Examples:
I want another cup of tea. मुझे एक और कप चाय चाहिए।
She bought another dress yesterday. उसने कल एक और ड्रेस खरीदी।
Can you give me another chance? क्या तुम मुझे एक और मौका दे सकते हो?
He took another book from the shelf. उसने शेल्फ से एक और किताब ली।
We will try another method tomorrow. हम कल एक और तरीका आज़माएँगे।
Use 2: Another for Different One (कोई दूसरा)
जब किसी different option की बात हो।
Examples:
This pen is not working, give me another pen. यह पेन काम नहीं कर रहा, मुझे दूसरा पेन दो।
If you don’t like this seat, choose another seat. अगर तुम्हें यह सीट पसंद नहीं है, तो दूसरी सीट चुन लो।
Let’s watch another movie tonight. आज रात कोई दूसरी फिल्म देखते हैं।
He decided to try another restaurant. उसने किसी दूसरे रेस्टोरेंट को आज़माने का फैसला किया।
She will find another job soon. वह जल्द ही दूसरी नौकरी ढूँढ लेगी।
Use 3: Other (अन्य / बाकी)
जब एक से ज्यादा चीजों की बात हो।
Examples:
Other students are waiting outside. अन्य छात्र बाहर इंतजार कर रहे हैं।
Do you have other options? क्या तुम्हारे पास अन्य विकल्प हैं?
She invited other friends to the party. उसने पार्टी में अन्य दोस्तों को बुलाया।
Other people also want this opportunity. अन्य लोग भी यह अवसर चाहते हैं।
We will discuss other topics tomorrow. हम कल अन्य विषयों पर चर्चा करेंगे।
Use 4: Other with Plural Nouns
जब plural noun के साथ use हो।
Examples:
Other books are on the table. अन्य किताबें मेज पर हैं।
Other teachers are in the meeting. अन्य शिक्षक मीटिंग में हैं।
Other cities are also developing fast. अन्य शहर भी तेजी से विकसित हो रहे हैं।
Other players are ready for the match. अन्य खिलाड़ी मैच के लिए तैयार हैं।
Other students have already submitted the form. अन्य छात्रों ने पहले ही फॉर्म जमा कर दिया है।
Use 5: The Other (दो में से दूसरा)
जब two things में से दूसरा हो।
Examples:
One hand was injured, but the other hand was fine. एक हाथ घायल था, लेकिन दूसरा ठीक था।
I have two pens, one is blue and the other is black. मेरे पास दो पेन हैं, एक नीला है और दूसरा काला।
She was sitting on one side and her friend on the other side. वह एक तरफ बैठी थी और उसकी दोस्त दूसरी तरफ।
I saw two dogs, one was white and the other was brown. मैंने दो कुत्ते देखे, एक सफेद था और दूसरा भूरा।
One road goes to the market and the other goes to the school. एक सड़क बाजार जाती है और दूसरी स्कूल।
