Introduction
Preposition “for” English grammar में बहुत common है। इसका उपयोग purpose, duration, benefit, reason, exchange और support जैसी कई situations में होता है। अगर “for” के अलग-अलग uses समझ लिए जाएँ तो sentences बनाना बहुत आसान हो जाता है।

Use 2: FOR for Duration (कितने समय के लिए)
I studied for two hours. मैंने दो घंटे पढ़ाई की।
She lived in Delhi for five years. वह पाँच साल दिल्ली में रही।
We waited for ten minutes. हमने दस मिनट इंतजार किया।
He will stay here for a week. वह यहाँ एक हफ्ते तक रहेगा।
They worked for the whole day yesterday. उन्होंने कल पूरे दिन काम किया।
Use 3: FOR for Benefit (किसके लिए)
I made tea for my mother. मैंने अपनी माँ के लिए चाय बनाई।
She opened the door for him. उसने उसके लिए दरवाज़ा खोला।
He carried the bag for me. उसने मेरे लिए बैग उठाया।
They arranged a party for their friend. उन्होंने अपने दोस्त के लिए पार्टी रखी।
We are planning a surprise for our teacher. हम अपने शिक्षक के लिए सरप्राइज प्लान कर रहे हैं।
Use 4: FOR for Reason (किस कारण से)
He was punished for his mistake. उसे अपनी गलती के लिए सजा मिली।
She thanked me for my help. उसने मेरी मदद के लिए धन्यवाद दिया।
They were rewarded for their hard work. उन्हें उनकी मेहनत के लिए इनाम मिला।
I apologized for the delay. मैंने देरी के लिए माफी मांगी।
He was famous for his kindness. वह अपनी दयालुता के लिए प्रसिद्ध था।
Use 5: FOR for Exchange or Price (की कीमत पर / के बदले)
I bought this book for 200 rupees. मैंने यह किताब 200 रुपये में खरीदी।
She sold her car for a good price. उसने अपनी कार अच्छी कीमत पर बेची।
They bought the house for a high price. उन्होंने घर ऊँची कीमत पर खरीदा।
He got the ticket for 500 rupees. उसे टिकट 500 रुपये में मिला।
We purchased the laptop for a discount price. हमने लैपटॉप छूट की कीमत पर खरीदा।
Use 6: FOR for Support (समर्थन में)
I am for this decision. मैं इस निर्णय के पक्ष में हूँ।
She spoke for the students. उसने छात्रों के समर्थन में बात की।
Many people voted for the leader. कई लोगों ने नेता के पक्ष में वोट दिया।
He always stands for justice. वह हमेशा न्याय के पक्ष में खड़ा रहता है।
They are fighting for their rights. वे अपने अधिकारों के लिए लड़ रहे हैं।
Use 7: FOR for Destination (किसी जगह के लिए जाना)
We are leaving for Delhi tomorrow. हम कल दिल्ली के लिए निकल रहे हैं।
He left for the airport early. वह जल्दी एयरपोर्ट के लिए निकल गया।
They will depart for Mumbai tonight. वे आज रात मुंबई के लिए रवाना होंगे।
She is going for a walk. वह टहलने के लिए जा रही है।
