English में “Should” और “Must” दोनों ही modal verbs हैं, लेकिन उनके meanings अलग हैं।
Students अक्सर इन दोनों में confusion कर देते हैं, क्योंकि दोनों advice, rule और necessity से जुड़ी situations में आते हैं।
इस blog में हम इनका clear difference, आसान rules और simple examples समझेंगे।
1. Meaning of SHOULD (सलाह देना / हल्का सुझाव / moral duty)
Use: “Should” का use हम तब करते हैं जब:
- कोई सलाह देनी हो
- कोई हल्का नियम बताना हो
- किसी moral duty (नैतिक कर्तव्य) की बात हो
- Expectation बतानी हो
Examples:
You should study every day. तुम्हें रोज़ पढ़ाई करनी चाहिए।
You should drink more water. तुम्हें ज़्यादा पानी पीना चाहिए।
We should respect our parents. हमें अपने माता-पिता का सम्मान करना चाहिए।
He should not waste his time. उसे अपना समय बर्बाद नहीं करना चाहिए।
They should reach on time. उन्हें समय पर पहुँचना चाहिए।
2. Meaning of MUST (कड़ी ज़रूरत / strong obligation / safety rule)
Use: “Must” का use तब किया जाता है जब:
- कोई कड़ा नियम हो
- कोई strict requirement हो
- कोई जरूरी सुरक्षा नियम हो
- किसी बात को strongly कहना हो
- कोई urgent need हो
Examples:
You must wear a helmet. तुम्हें हेलमेट पहनना ही चाहिए।
Students must follow the rules. विद्यार्थियों को नियमों का पालन करना ही होगा।
You must drink medicine on time. तुम्हें समय पर दवा लेनी ही होगी।
We must finish the work today. हमें आज ही काम खत्म करना होगा।
Everyone must keep the classroom clean. सबको कक्षा साफ रखनी ही होगी।
Conclusion
“Should” और “Must” दोनों ही जरूरी modal verbs हैं, लेकिन इनका use sentence की strength पर निर्भर करता है।
“Should” soft advice देता है, जबकि “Must” strict rule या strong obligation बताता है।
अगर आप इन दोनों का अंतर समझकर practice करेंगे, तो आपकी English ज़्यादा accurate, confident और natural लगेगी।
